The Haunt List attended our first ever Wasteland Weekend and let us tell you, it was a GREAT way to kick off Halloween Month. Starting on September 27th, nearly four thousand wastelanders descended upon the makeshift city for 5 days of post-apocalyptic partying and mayhem!
For first-timers, the event can seem a little daunting, with dress-code rules and various other etiquettes. Once you arrive it is easy to see why these are in place as it is nearly impossible to not become fully immersed in the experience.

Wasteland Weekend had so much to see it was hard to do everything in the 2 short days we were out there. We visited Thunderdome to cheer brave volunteers on, attended a funny and fascinating magic show and rocked out to 9ELECTRIC, Jason Charles Miller & element a440’s killer live shows on Saturday Night’s Wasteland main stage. We strolled around Wasteland City (the hub of the event and operations) and its themed food/drink and shop vendors, and gawked at the immaculately detailed camps of the tribes selected to have a spot within the gates. Other goings-on included burlesque and fire dancers, gambling, car shows, fashion shows, you name it. Wasteland Weekend engulfed us in its bustling post-apocalyptic community and we would call it a highlight of the events we’ve been to this year!
