For a limited time, Dark Forces are taking over the upstairs VIP Lounge at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Admittedly, I lean more Rebel Alliance, but last night I donned my boyfriend’s Kylo Ren shirt and took a walk on the wild side to visit GALAXY BAR. 

This 5K sq ft space was transformed into an otherworldly lounge to coincide with the release of the latest STAR WARS movie, The Rise Of Skywalker, and offer fans a chance to continue the celebration after the credits roll. Compared to Oga’s Cantina (Disneyland) and Scum and Villainy (also in Hollywood), the GALAXY BAR pop-up definitely has the more a ‘dark side’ aesthetic, as promised. The space is dim and moody, with cool projections, replica props and slick red accent lighting. My favorite part was the 4ft light-up AT-AT model that was handmade by a local Star Wars fan! To compliment the fun futuristic atmosphere, they’ve concocted themed cocktails that were impressively tasty. I started with the adorable ‘Baby Yoda’ (Tequila, Midori & Lemon Juice) mostly because I wanted a photo, but was pleasantly surprised by the taste. After snapping a few pics and videos, I headed back to the bar to try the ‘R2D2’ (Citron Vodka, Blue Curacao, Lime Juice & Cranberry Juice) which was a vibrant blue color with dry ice – definitely Instagram-worthy.

Unfortunately, I went on a pretty slow night (Wednesday, early evening), but I still enjoyed my visit and the great service. I’d suggest checking it out this weekend when it’s buzzing a bit more or bringing a crew of your Star Wars loving friends and making a night of it! General ticket reservations include one signature cocktail and an LED bracelet. VIP includes two signature cocktails and the LED bracelet.
