This past Monday, The Haunt List was invited to one of the final performances of Fallen Saints: Dark. We had caught their preview show during this year’s Midsummer Scream, but still were unsure of what to expect. And as it turned out, all we could really expect was the unexpected!
Rather than focus on urban legends or other-worldly scares as in previous years, this time ‘Dark’ delved into the real life horrors of everyday life. Fears and encounters that if you haven’t, then one of your friends, family, colleagues or neighbors have likely (and unfortunately) experienced. The whole cast performed brilliantly, relying on only a handful of props and some fanciful stage lighting to guide us through a range of emotions. We laughed, we cried (really!), we pondered, we shivered with chills down our spines.
Upon sitting down with the cast and crew post-show for the Q&A, we were impressed to learn how collaborative this project was. Most of the content portrayed throughout the story was brought to the table by the actors themselves, based on their own fears. They collectively pieced together the topics that made the most sense to carry the main character from birth, through childhood, to school, to work, and ultimately to her death.
We would urge you to see the final performance on Monday the 15th, but it’s already SOLD OUT! So for now, keep your eye out for more from this talented team, such as the 4th installment of Fallen Saints (we’ve been told they’re planning to announce the theme soon!).
